Re: Some Poems

#126 Post by curiousa2z » March 16th, 2011, 3:41 pm

sorry to get off topic like this!
better post a poem to make up for it:

this was another poem from words peeps selected. A quick note: Narwhales used to be called "corpsefish" because they like to swim upside down and people thought they were dead.

Down Under

Memory can undulate like the waves of the ocean,
Fool you, like a narwhal, floating upside down, convincing us it’s dead,
in spite of all the
Instruction that informs us it merely likes to swim that way.
Memory can reverberate with the clanging gong of delusional misdirection,
Make re-writes of a moral wobble into altruistic motives.
But Memory can also ignore the tumescent proof of a concupiscent state if we can’t
Summon the gumption to admit love might be hiding
Behind desire.

Somewhat melancholic I guess...

08-05-2011

Edge of the day.

Light and dark colliding, on the edge
of the day.
Strong winds blowing, trees slowly
sway.
Nothing matters though, not the
cold, storm in the dark.
Except you lovely, locked away
in my heart.
Please stay with me lovely, on
the edge of the day.
Wrapped in arms and thoughts
I slowly sway.

love this! Excellent symbolism comparing your love to the solidness of a strong protective tree.

A picture of a discarded train wagon and that strange Eminent soundfile have produced this. :christmas:

12-06-2011

A train to nowhere.

I’m looking for timelessness, a train
to nowhere.
Tracks disappearing midway, so we stay
in a hot desert place.
I want to sit there, winds whispering softly,
just looking at the clouds changing shapes.
I’m looking for timelessness, a train
to nowhere.
Hanging from a balloon, drifting away into
some distant light, wondering about the place
we’re going to see when the air has run out.
No coal for this train, just my confusing thoughts
and a little dream because I’m on my way to
nowhere, a lovely place, you could drive with
me and see...

oh, I like it!
IS it about that state of consciousness just as we're falling off to sleep?

I was tinkering with a picture with a train wagon of somekind while listening to this:

A lovely bit of analog sound. :christmas:

As for the picture, I'll post the result sometime. :christmas:

What the poem is about, I don't know for sure.

Why should a poem be "about" anything or have "hidden meanings"? It can just be beautiful in itself. :)

just asking if it was about something, don't recall saying it had to be. Is that ok too?

New one, no idea where this came from, I was just listening to some music from a game.

16-10-2011
Ancient land.

The ancient sand, the ancient sand,
wind softly blowing.
Bringing whispers to the land, the sun
hot and glowing.
Just the old road, underneath your feet,
old and cracked concrete.
Travel mile after mile, scrubland scrub
waving, rocks silently smile.
The ancient sand, the ancient sand, hot
and quiet, just the whispering wind is
flying through, telling, stories of this old
arid land.

I like that. It has the Romantic wistfulness of a lost civilization, the sadness of something that was old long ago.

First one of the year, thanks to a strange song.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KO7B2fHjH74

05-01-2012

Outside the air bubble.

Such a strange place, no air no water.
Lights though, millions, some close,
some far away.
Not a place for us, we're to frail, too
vulnerable.
But still, we want to go... away.
