What I have been doing

#1 Post by PrincessWhoopAss » May 28th, 2010, 10:30 pm

Working.

I'm working at the Home Depot. I work part time, woohoo. I sell doors and windows mostly, but also anything else we sell. I spot the guys on the forklifts. I make a lot of the signs. I walk and walk and walk, and have dropped 2 pants sizes and am close to being down one more. I flirt a little, laugh a little, bitch a little. More or less I like it.

But DAMN, I am tired. :::sigh:::

So, what have YOU been doing?

Working half days making specialized electrical wiring for sensor equipment, range finders, military equipment, x-ray machines etc etc etc.

3 times a week fitness, mainly to gain strength, cardio here and there too.

The rest of the time, household stuff.

Working, as well. I troubleshoot insurance problems for Blue Cross. It's great helping people, but there's a lot of sad stuff: People with terminal cancer, parents who lost their baby, a woman whose teenage daughter was killed in a car accident, and so on. I guess I'm used to it after working in two inner city hospitals for 22 years, but it still saddens me.

So, the other night a bunch of the girls at work told me the think I am prim and proper, and a bit prissy, and that's why they never joke much when I am around. They told me this because I said "biatch" and they were SHOCKED that I would say that. Ummmm.

Of course, when I told the younger guys at work about that-- the guys I actually work alongside every day-- they all laughed so hard they had tears.

Wow, do I have those girls fooled or WHAT?!

*grins* I've gotten that before - I even had a manager (female) apologize for showing a picture of a penis in the break-room while I was present. She basically said (later) that she hadn't known I was in the room and if she had known she wouldn't have shown it and that's when I learned the people I worked with did not know me at all. HeHe!

Of course, for me it's probably cause when I'm at work, I treat it like work, and generally just get on with my work while thinking about all the things I'll do once I'm done with work... Or at least that's how it was at that time. Now I have a job I like, but I'm alone while doing it, so it makes no difference, but if I was around other people while working I'd probably be more likely to cut up with them.

For the record, if anyone cares, she was showing that pic from a magizine article to her boyfriend, who she was trying to get to give up smoking by showing him an article with a picture of a limp penis - I don't know exactly what the article said, but it was something to the effect that smoking causes a loss of hard-ons, obviously. *grin* I was just shocked that she (or anyone else) thought I'd be offended, it wasn't like she shoved the pic in my face or something.
Tim (needs lighter): ...and none of you smoke.
Art (looks at armada): Nobody smokes? This is Kentucky, not Sausalito. What's wrong with you people!
(per capita in KY toss a cat u'll hit a smoker! So that's where Justified puts the fiction in the show.)

Working and trying to recover from working. Sadly the urge to write, whether posts or stories has really suffered now that my job is routinely producing multi-page reports and other documents at work on a regular basis.

I keep trying to make it back to the forums (here or TBBS) but find myself being distracted by other things and usually don't have time to post anything more than a few sentences really.

Oh and baking. New hobby. Gotten quite good at cookies and muffins.

I've been trying to keep from being evicted. There are 2 vicious women living here who have been doing their best to get me kicked out...so has the maintenance man and his wife.

They've been telling the owner lies about me; proof has been he came here to inspect my apartment, and complained that I left dishes in the drainer and hadn't immediately washed my breakfast dishes. and SOMEone told him I was flushing cat litter down the toilet!

He had other complaints so I have til August to fix them and I'll have to go through this whole mess all over again then.

Needless to say, I've been too upset recently to visit any of the boards.

Wow, I thought I had posted in this thread instead of just reading it.

Things that have gone on in my life within the last almost year.

1. Bought a house, had it remodeled, and am settling down. I complain about the damn neighbor kids. (They put a dead and rotting snake in my mailbox. Slightly different than just walking on my lawn.)

2. Had some health issues crop up. Job has stress related to it. So it all got to me and my blood pressure got out of whack. So now I'm on meds to control cholestrol and blood pressure. When the doctor looked at me and said, "Even at your age, you are at risk for a heart attack." it is kind of scary. But the meds are doing their thing, and things are getting down into the "normal" range. I just have to learn to cook healthy now, instead of the usual bachelor chow.

3. I've made my peace with working at Wal-Mart. As I tell my coworkers, it is not where I want to be, it is not what I want to be doing, but if I hated my job, truly absolutely hated it, every day it would just totally destroy me. So I guess I've gotten some Yoda-like wisdom. Now, if only I could use the Force.

To die, in the rain.
