mmmm sounds good....
@ RJ : mwahahahaha.....!
@ Santa: green is definately one of the colours and the third colour is under debate: I have a deep lovely blue, the minions are suggesting plum. Have to look at samples though; plum's a colour I can't say I considered.

a winter wonderland out there! glad I kept the snow tires on.

Pancakes are nice.. 8)

I've fitted a new mainboard into my P-4 machine, its the same type as the one before, I've got another one of those and maybe I can actually obtain some more of these boards. :shifty:

I've decided to install Win2K on it, yes its end of life and the like but still its a good OS and with a tricks it can be still useful. 8)

I like green, its my favorite colour, green chair good! 8)

blue, green and plum would also be a nice in combination. How about a multicoloured chair?

Santy the song I quoted yesterday in chat is called Quiet Whiskey
http://sdg3.com/z/music/quiet_whiskey.mp3
The text goes:

Whiskey, whiskey on the shelf,
you were so quiet there by yourself.
Things were fine till they took you down,
opened you up and passed you around.

John was the first one to pull you down.
He took one drink and started acting like a clown,
passed you to Hazel, Jane, and Jack;
Penelope got you and passed you right back.
The doorbell rang - what did you see?
In walked Henry, Fred and Marie.
They hit you high, they hit you low,
They hit you fast and they hit you slow. .

WHISKEY . . .

Well, they killed you dead and wanted another,
they reached up on the shelf, to grab your brother.
It's a shame the way they did you in,
then they reached up and grabbed your brother Gin.
Grandfather Wine nearly trembled with fright,
wondering if the party would last all night.
Grandfather Wine knew without a doubt
He was next in line if the juice ran out.

WHISKEY . . .

Now look at everybody, they got real tight,
now they want to start a fight.
John never did nothing wrong in his life,
now he's up in the corner with a policeman's wife.
Frank's so drunk he can hardly see,
Trying to make love to Penelope.
Penelope took a bottle, and knocked him in the jaw.
And that's when the neighbors called the law.

Whiskey...

Maybe a couple new threads is what finally allowed me back in here...glad to be back.

It was 54 degrees today, the rain got rid of all the snow...then WHOOSH! it dropped to 33 and we got a snowstorm that has left us with at least 6 inches :( back to square one...sigh

^I hear ya, Ghostie.
Green is my favourite colour too, Santa - and the green chair is lovely - after just one coat, too! NEVER buying DULUX paint again. You'd think a paint franchise would stock better product! :cussin:

good morning.
It's freezing cold but sunny here. Not a single cloud in sight anywhere. My tomatoes on the window sill are germinating, the basil already gets the first proper leaves after the seed leaves, - and my bicycle is in the workshop for really bad gear trouble (started unexpectedly this morning on my way to work) The mechanic expects to have it repaired by tonight. I am not so confident..

took a chance printing off the greeting on the front on a piece of stiff paper (regular printer paper's too thin) - and it worked!

Still alive. Last week is one I could have lived without, but my equilibrium is back thanks to a 4 day weekend. See how long that lasts tomorrow

Officially down 50lbs from last year's check-up, with that all having happened since July. Kind of plateaued for the last few weeks, but it seems that it makes a Doctor's day when a patient sheds that kind of weight without being ordered to or having a disease. Bonus points for being able to go it alone and not need expensive product or pay for other support too. Got out of needing blood sugar and cholesterol tests this year too. Of course that meant fasting for nothing :D

Yeah, in any case thanks to lots of time reading and playing Bulletstorm (in summary: violent shoot 'em up) helped. The butterscotch brownie with some Skor chips mixed in and others sprinkled in a layer over the top was a success (if needing 5 extra mins to cook).

Tonight will be seared Ahai Tuna with lemon and chili oil, fried rice, brocolli in swet chili garlic sauce and cucumber sonomono. Last week was bad enough that I didn't even want to cook again until Sat. The Rosee penne (tomato cream white wine sauce) with Italian sausage turned out really well. I hadn't done that one in several months, but will add it to the roster.

In any case we'll see how long my restored mood lasts in the face of work tomorrow :?

Two machines nearly installed.. one is a P-II 400 and the other a P4 2Ghz, while the P4 isn't really fast one does notice the difference between the two... They both run Win2K and are freshly installed.

When using memtest the old P-II has a memory throughput of 246Mb/sec which isn't bad but compared to the 903Mb/sec the P-4 is delivering its not all that fast.. of course my main machine (quad core 2.5Ghz DDR-3) has a throughput of 8180 Mb/sec shows you how fast things change and how much PC's evolve within a few years.

good evening :)

I'm sorry about your turtle, RJD. How do/es the other one/s take it?

Poor Ghost! 42 inches sounds terrible! Over here the first crocuses opened their blossoms today. And at my office they cut down 2 cherry trees last week and I rescued a bucketfull of twigs which are just starting to flower now.
Would you like me to post a few spring photos from here to cheer you up or would that rather frustrate you?

Congrats on your weight loss, Dan. Your description of dishes to cook left me totally hungry, though! (err... you don't happen to be single by any chance? )

The only thing on my agenda for today is cleaning the fridge while my supper bakes peacefully in the oven (a croque variation with tomato, asparagus and camembert)

By all means, huggle, post the Spring photos...I'll take anything that looks like Spring. They just predicted another snowstorn heading in from the Rockies!

My supper is cooking too...a piece of chicken is boiling with a potato...nothing fancy here, but it IS food...I guess. :p

Thank you. Yeah, they're very interesting creatures. I'm not sure how old he was. These are Turtles that my Uncle captured while out in the woods with his granddaughters. He might have been very old, I suppose.

huggle wrote:I'm sorry about your turtle, RJD. How do/es the other one/s take it?

Thank you. The other three we mostly kept separate in another tub. The guy who died was a little excitable and would sometimes fight with the others when they were together. He was always trying to climb out of the tub and I think that got the others a little excited, so they'll probably actually be calmer now.
