I admit I didn't watch the whole race - I was out running errands but when I got back someone was watching the race and I hadn't even got through the living room to even start putting my stuff away when it happened: NASCAR crash video shows Kyle Larson's terrifying end to Nationwide race as fans are hospitalized.

Obviously it wasn't a full on scene from The Final Destination, but I admit that movie made me wonder how strong those fences actually are, and this proves that movie sequence sadly isn't near as impossible as I thought it was at the time.

For this week The Vampire Diaries and Beauty and the Beast did not air new episodes.

Cult is doomed. Maybe that's the answer to getting rid of real-life cults. Put them on the CW.

I personally like Cult - it's not a bad show - little weird, but not bad. The main problem is that Cult like several other shows this season on the CW simply didn't get sampled. Emily Owens, M.D. didn't get sampled either.

I'm starting to wonder if the CW should try premiering every one of their new shows behind The Vampire Diaries and/or Arrow. Yes, last season The Secret Circle and this season Beauty and the Beast have fell/fallen, but at least both of those shows got well sampled they just couldn't keep the viewers that sampled them.

Now obviously not every new show could be scheduled behind them, but they could at least premiere all their new shows behind them to get them sampled. Because the only recent CW show that's coming to my mind as being decently sampled without being behind The Vampire Diaries was Ringer (other than obviously Arrow), because lets be fair even last season Hart of Dixie didn't really get sampled either, and for the CW to even stand a chance of rebounding they need to at the very least get their shows sampled.

The other CW shows did not air new episode this week, which probably explains why some of the CWs low hanging ratings fruit made the list this week.

Yup, nothing there I watch. They'd do better by taking off Cult and putting on re-runs of Secret Circle.

Interesting news Re: Supernatural news that could be an indication of things to come or it could mean almost nothing at all, but it's interesting and as I said could spell not so good things for Supernatrals future. But also as I said doesn't necessarily mean anything at all - other than proof that I'm not the only person not loving Supernatural this season.

But since this is more related to the WB (the studio that produces Supernatural) I put it here instead of the Supernatural episode thread.

Apparently, on one channel in Canada (Space) the ratings for Supernatural dropped enough that said channel "canceled" (i.e. stopped airing) Supernatural mid-season this season.
(I don't have a link because this was in a thread on another board where it was mentioned.)

Now again just because it's canceled on one(?) channel in Canada doesn't necessarily mean anything for the fate of Supernatural in the US, because as long as the ratings in the US don't drop the CW would keep renewing it. And even then US DVD sales and domestic syndication earn a show more money than outside the US syndication (and Supernatural is still rating fairly well on TNT - i.e. US syndication). However, it's not a good sign for the overall bottom line if Supernatural stops being syndicated outside the US. But again right now it's one channel in a non-US country and is probably overall a mere drop in the bucket, but what if that starts happening in other countries? Then it would actually start to affect Supernatural's overall money-making bottom line.

But again it could end up meaning nothing at all, but as I said I thought it was interesting, especially in-light of the speculation that when it comes to the CW outside the US syndication is what can sometimes keep low-rated CW shows alive, because even if it doesn't make much money in the US it makes money outside the US. Honestly, I kinda figure that's BS, but you never know...

Weird. Are we sure it's even true? I couldn't find any news items about it and there's no mention of Supernatural at all on the Space website.

I don't know, honestly. I haven't really had time to look it up, because I is behind on show watching this week (as mentioned in another thread)... So, I stopped my internet time a bit early yesterday and managed to catch up somewhat, though I still haven't gotten to Lost Girl - maybe tonight.

So, yeah, I have no idea if it's true, though the poster that mentioned this was from Canada and no one on said website called him out - and the website where this was mentioned is a much bigger one than this one, so it would've been likely that if this was false information it would've been called out.

I wonder if they were showing the original episodes or the re-runs. Given the questionable quality of the first half of the season, it could be start of an unpleasant trend if it was the former.

(This shows exactly why sometimes the CWs higher rated shows don't make the DVR increase list, because for example The Vampire Diaries only went up 50% while Cult gained 100% and yet Cult only went up one tenth while The Vampire Diaries went up six tenths. Basically it's almost impossible for a higher rated show (on the CW at any rate) to see a 100% increase. Based on my example for The Vampire Diaries to rise 100% it would've needed a 2.2 DVR7 rating Supernatural would need a 2.0 and Arrow would've needed a 1.9 where Cult at a measley 0.1 only needed to go to a 0.2 to rise 100%.)

But it looks like almost half of Cult's loyal audience jumped ship this week. I wonder if this was in the wake of the cancellation.
