^^ Same to you.
Good evening, everybody.
I saw a turkey walking along the shoulder of the road as I drove down to East Bridgewater this morning.

Did you stop and shoot it so you'd have fresh turkey for Thanksgiving?

^^ I turned in fairly early, too.
Good morning, everybody.
That explains why it was hitchhiking.

Re: Post Every Time You Enter #3
There are propably a lot of turkeys seeking refuge atm.
Frakly, I can't understand how there can be such a demand for them. Nowadays there are hardly any families that are big enough to be able to eat such a huge bird. And - at least in Europe - a fully grown turkey would fit in no oven.
A friend of mine lives alone and still cooks a turkey every year. And then he propably eats turkey till christmas...
I think I'll have a thanksgiving chicken. Or a pheasant, maybe.
No snow here yet but the forecast predicts some for tomorrow.

You don't need to get a huge turkey...the Food Bank used to give me a 12 pound turkey each year...I'm alone, and it would only last about a week. Once I got to the point of being unable to lift a turkey, they would bring me a chicken...now, one of the local churches brings me a turkey dinner. I still get a chicken from the Food Bank, but it IS nice to have a traditional dinner as well.
It's been snowing here for the past couple days...fortunately, it isn't sticking.

Re: Post Every Time You Enter #3
eeks! I could do really well without snow. The plants can't, though. Still, a few days of frost without snow would be just the thing to kill all the slugs, snails and greenflies...
The forecast over here says it'll get colder, gradually, with the "snowfall border" slowly sinking to 400-600 meters (1200-1800 ft). My terrace is at approximately 330 m, heehee
I'll be out in the country on Wednesday and Thursday - So I guess it's safe to assome those two days will be cold, stormy and rainy
I think I'll start cookie baking next weekend.

Good evening, everybody.
We'll have nine people for Thanksgiving dinner, so we'll need a fairly big bird.
As for snow-- it was predicted for last night, but didn't happen. I have a feeling it won't be long, though.

No snow here, I don't want snow, I am already totally fed up with winter and it hasn't even started yet...

We have the Veterans pot-luck luncheon today. I baked a blueberry pie. I sure do hope it tastes decent. I had to make an oil pie crust since I was totally out of shortening.

freezing cold, wet and dark..perfect day for a Remberance Service. I am always sad on this day. Glad I met up with my old friend Anne. She's a granny now, but was a kid when the Canadians liberated Holland and never misses a memorial. THe both of us stood in the rain crying when the guns went off.
SHINY!

^^ That must be an amazing memory for her.
Good evening, everybody.
Well, it's back to work tomorrow. For one day. Then three days of training. I'm not sure if that's going to be a good thing or a bad thing.
