Happy Birthday!
Re: Happy b-day Huggle
aww thank you!!
It was a rather nice day, though very busy at my office. I got more hugs today than in the last 20 years together LOL (but I suspect that they must last for the next 20 years too, heehee)
My colleagues raided the archives and found a few quite terrible photos of me Rubber trousers are not really flattering items of clothing.
And I was absolutely perplexed at my present. It's a custom at my office to donate a little bit for a present when someone has a round birthday. Usually it adds up to something around 150-200 Euros ($200 - $280). The amount varies, depending on how popular the person is. From a part of the sum the colleagues buy a present, the rest gets packed up nicely and covers the costs for the big feast the person who had birthday donates.
I got a season ticket for the flower show and a lovely round glass bowl with a bit of silvery sand in it and pretty shells that surround a little treasure chest. Little blue glass fishies hang on thin wires fastened to the upper rim of the bowl. It's very pretty=)
And the treasure box contains more than 230 Euros. *gasp* If you add the price for bowl, fishies, ticket etc. the donated sum must have been around 300 Euros ($400) ! I think I set a new record
By the oldtimers at my office I got officially welcomed into the silverback club
And a colleague who has a very pretty garden gave me a huge Hemerocallis (daylily) plant =)
Oh, and I just discovered a sleeping Easter Bunny in someone's sig at Nationstates. Isn't it cute?:

Re: Happy b-day Huggle
I'm late, too.
Happy Birthday, huggle!
I'm glad you had a great day and set a new office record. You're obviously the most popular person ever.
Nice bunny, too.

Thanky you!!
You are not late at all! Here in Bavaria we say it counts as long as the person who had b-day hasn't eaten sauerkraut. I had baked potatoes with cottage cheese and ham =) No kraut at all.

Re: Happy b-day Huggle
So if you never eat sauerkraut, your birthday never passes, and you never get any older!
Re: Happy b-day Huggle
oooooooooh! I never thought of that! It explains why I look a decade younger than I am. I have Kraut only 4 or 5 times a year.

There you go. You have to give it up altogether.
