Also, I would like to note that I had moved Crazy Ex-Girlfriend from likely canceled to a toss up before the CW renewed everything. I can't explain it, but earlier in the season I had wondered if the CW would pull off a mass renewal and they did.

NOTE: Yes, the toss up list is a bit large this year, but FOX has made some moves this season that defy logic (*cough*Scream Queens*cough*) so truthfully I decided to put some shows on the toss up list that in other years would be under likely canceled instead. For the record, pretty much the entire toss up list would if this was last year be under likely canceled, but I don't think FOX is done with the surprises this season, so this one time I'm gonna be happy with a big toss up list. Though if forced I think maybe Sleepy Hollow and The Last Man on Earth could probably move to likely renewal, which would leave the toss up list at three, but I'm not confident enough to move those to likely renewal.

NOTE: Yes, I know conventional wisdom says The Mysteries of Laura will likely be canceled, but I just can't bring myself to place it under likely canceled. And, as far as Grimm, the ratings on the last few episodes have made a good case for at least some manner of a final season if not another whole season. Crowded is simply too new to call either way.

So here it is - I'm certain I'm not gonna be 100%, but shockingly I'm mostly content with my calls this time around.

I'm happy to see both Agent Carter and Sleepy Hollow under Toss Up. That's better than I would have expected.

It's too bad about Heroes Reborn, but, considering what happened the last time, one good season is pretty cool. It can go on the shelf next to the one good season of the original.

I suppose I should note that one of my misses might be Nashville according to reports said show just got new showrunners. However, don't put all hope on that, because The Good Wife got new showrunners and still got canceled. Still I thought I should note that bit about showrunners, though I'm not changing my prediction on it at this time.

Strange. You would think new showrunners would be a sign of renewal. Cancelled shows don't need showrunners. I wonder how much you get paid to be the showrunner of a cancelled show.

And today CBS decided to hand out some renewals:

So only three on my likely renewed list have yet to be renewed: Supergirl, Criminal Minds, and Life in Pieces. And in the case of Criminal Minds I'm betting it's contract wrangling holding things up (which has happened for the last several years) and not something along the lines of CBS getting ready to cancel.

Also, of note, I suppose, is that as I'm sitting here watching a game I see an ad for a Supergirl (CBS)/The Flash (CW) crossover on Monday. Things that make you go hmm, but really can't figure what if any meaning it might have. Perhaps a crossover is just a crossover.

I assumed that the ratings for Supergirl were good, but I actually don't know. It's funny that they haven't said anything yet.

Not really good, but decent-ish, though that is why I almost put it on the toss up list. Let's just say I would NOT be horribly surprised if CBS decided not to renew Supergirl (though if CBS didn't despite claims from the CW I expect they would pick it up) - I just kinda felt at the time of posting the list (and still right now) that CBS is more likely to renew Supergirl than cancel it.

However, it is higher rated than The Flash so I don't see how CBS or Warner Brothers thinks this will benefit Supergirl. As a general rule Supergirl clocks in with A18-49 ratings in the range of 1.5/1.8 while The Flash generally clocks in with A18-49 ratings in the range of 1.1/1.5, so you'd think they'd have Supergirl coming to The Flash instead of The Flash going to Supergirl.
(Point of fact I think the average rating for Supergirl is a 1.6 (maybe a 1.7) while the average rating for The Flash is a 1.4 (or a 1.3 - I suck at maths) so there isn't much difference between the two ultimately and with The Flash being the lower rated of the two the only reason I can come up with for doing the crossover the way they are is perhaps to introduce the male viewers of The Flash to Supergirl to try and increase the fanboy audience.)

Today FOX renewed Lucifer and Rosewood - so perhaps there is a career for ol' Luci in LA solving crimes after all.

Well now I'm afraid, because I can't even imagine what they could pull off to make you root against a Sleepy Hollow renewal.

Sadly I'm just tired enough that I'm likely to go to sleep over watching the episode tonight.

No news yet re: Sleepy Hollow, but today FOX did renew New Girl for another season.

AAAAND today FOX has pulled Cooper Barrett’s Guide To Surviving Life from its schedule effectively canceling it. Honestly, while I had it as a toss up I really should've put it AND probably Bordertown as likely canceled, but I was basically hedging my bets here, or rather because they weren't rating quite so badly when I made and posted the list I bumped them up.
(And even right now I'm not sure they'll canceled Bordertown, but it would not surprise me if they did.)

I never saw Cooper Barrett, but I think that's the one that had the actress from Being Human in it.

Well, it would appear that while Castle might continue it will be without Stana Katic (aka Detective Kate Beckett). I'd actually say this news may spell good news for Nashville at the very least, because it means Castles bubble is closer to popping than it was, because while it's possible I find myself doubting it will continue on without one of the stars.
(Along with Katic, Tamala Jones, who plays medical examiner Lanie Parish, will also depart at the end of Season 8.)

Basically this news means if I was posting my list today I'd probably switch the positions of Castle and Nashville. However, it is reported that contract talks with Nathan Fillion (aka Castle) are ongoing, but I would say this means IF there's a renewal it will almost certainly be for a shorter season.

Also, in cable news AMC has renewed Fear the Walking Dead for another season.

I don't watch Castle, but it seems like the whole concept depends on both of those stars being a part of it.

So, still not an annoucement of a final season, BUT turns out Grimm was only renewed for thirteen episodes, and since this is a show that's previously gotten twenty two, well, you know.

I mean there's the typical TV media PR about "the pickup is for a minimum of 13 episodes, with a likelihood for more. The move was made to give NBC brass scheduling flexibility."

Which I guess might not be all BS if you change likelihood to option and even then if Grimm doesn't premiere until mid-season then yeah that'll be the end, but if it gets a fall premiere I guess there's some slim hope of more.
(I just hope the people behind Grimm go into this as though it is the end.)

Yeah, it sounds like they really should plan for a finale. Of course, that will be awkward if they get more episodes, but that probably won't happen.

They could do what JMS did for B5 and film the finale and then just hold out until they need it.
