Assign a Theme Song

#1 Post by Theophilus » January 31st, 2005, 8:17 pm

We all know what we would choose as our personal theme song. But how do others see us? Thought it would be nice to see what song others would pick. So pick a theme song that you think fits a Terraner, and tell us why you picked that one.

I pick "A Few of My Favorite Things" from the Sound of Music for Santaman. And before he kills me for picking a girlie song for him, let me explain. WHenever I have a problem, Santaman is there to cheer me up. I know he does this for a lot of the rest of the board as well. So yeah, the song fits him.

To die, in the rain.

Tom Jones' "She's a Lady" for Dohlman. ;)

Pink's God is a DJ for Atomic_Dog.

Can't really offer a reason why, but I always think of him whenever I hear it.

*glares suspiciously at AD..* Great... there goes the rest of whatever was left of my reputation :whine:

Anyway..

Niorah: Deep Dish -Flashdance, that song is SO her.. :D i can just see her walking around listening to that song giving some boy's the death glare. ;)

Duracel: Anything by AC/DC she just ROCKS!! 8)

Aurian: lots of songs for her really, because i know her so well, at the moment i think i will go with "Rushing" by Moby. :)

Lila: Southern sun by Paul Oakenfold and Carla Werner.

Yu: Stiff Upper lip by AC/DC

More to come later..
""Revenge is a dish best served fried... deep fried!" (Alestorm)" (Alestorm.)
Cutthroat Coffee, The Pirate's Choice!

Cute song...
I don't know the band though, what kind of music do they make...?

For Santa I'd say Believer by Ozzy Osbourne... it's the first one that comes to mind...
The other one that comes to mind right away is Drops of Jupiter by Train for Iliana...
I have to think about more, maybe later...

More songs-

Aurian- Frank Sinatra's That Old Black Magic. :) Aside from her religious beliefs, I believe she could work magic on any guy she wanted.

Captain Cisco - Because he's a bit of a Bible Thumper, I pick Front 242's "Hey Poor, Jesus is here" for him.

Also because of her religious beliefs, "Jesus Frek" by DC Talk I think would be good for Dohlman.

For Grim, aside from the obvious, I think Foo Fighter's "Times Like These" fits him well. Dunno why, just think it fits him.

Just for fun, I think Prodigy's "Firestarter" would go well for Niorah.

Duracell, the big bad admin that she is, gets Fluke's "Atombomb".

DJ Quicksilver's "Open Your Mind" fits Bunrab, Without an open mind, I seriously doubt Bunrab would be as well educated or well read.

For Yu, the "Give the POor Man a Break" by Fatboy Slim. I mean, c'mon, he runs the board, so what else do we need to ask of him?

For T'Bonz, Kenny CHesney's "She don't know she's beautiful". T'bonz has one of the most beautiful personalities I've ever encontered on the 'net.

That's good for a start, I'll add more later.

To die, in the rain.

I think that Steve Miller's The joker somehow fits Cisco, I don't know, maybe it's the way he's playful and serious at the same time...

For Atomic_Dog This time by The Verve... it's bitter but it also has optimism in it.

For Aurian I'd say Billy Myers' Mother, daughter, sister, lover, don't know why... just a feeling.

For BlackDog Hidden charms by Elvis Costello, I bet there's at the very least one person on this board who could dedicate it to her.

More to come as I have the time to think about them without being in a hurry...

A_D, I love that Prodigy song! 8)

Here's another:

Santaman - "Pirate King" from The Pirates of Penzance

"Oh, better far to live and die
Under the brave black flag I fly,
Than play a sanctimonious part
With a pirate head and a pirate heart.
Away to the cheating world go you,
Where pirates all are well-to-do;
But I'll be true to the song I sing,
And live and die a Pirate King.
For I am a Pirate King!
And it is, it is a glorious thing
To be a Pirate King!
For I am a Pirate King!"

More to come... ;)

For puppyeyes, U2's Mysterious ways.

For Dura, Beyoncé's Naughty girl.

More to come, I guess...

For Cisco: Mary Mary and Shackles (Praise You) =)

For Santa: Subterranean Homesick Alien by Radiohead. Because well, sometimes he sounds like a subterranean homesick alien (which isn't a bad thing)
or Insomnia by Faithless. Because he's an insomniac, sometimes :)

Aurian: När vi två blir en by Gyllene Tider !
because you're fun and bouncy and naughty, like the song ;)

Pádraig: Song for Ireland, by Clannad, or their Nil sen la (depending on your mood ;)) Obviously!

Dura: She works hard for the money, by Donna Summer

More later. Perhaps.

Hmm lets see:

Captain Cisco... America by Rammstein :P

Grim: Mechanical man from the Command & Conquer soundtrack because of his Transformer adiction.. ;)

Puppyeyes: Locomotion by O.M.D. because you travel so much by train all the time :D

BlackDog: Whole lotta Rosie by AC/DC  ;) because she's naughty and fun.

Phoenix Hope: Shot of love by AC/DC .. 8) why? i don't need to explain now do i?

More to come :D

Well, there's only one I can think of right now and it's for BlackDog. It's The Old Black Rum by Great Big Sea and the chorus goes like this:

’Cause the old black rum’s got a hold on me
like a dog wrapped ’round my leg
and the old black rum’s got a hold on me
will I live for another day

Hope you can see the connection

More songs-
Crimson Ravage- Daydream Believer by the Monkeys. It just strikes me as being reflective of him.

For Mr. Toast, the immediate choice would be "Rough Sex" by the Lords of Acid, but rather, it hink "So Alive" by Love and Rockets fits him as well.

Kindred Wolf, just for jokes gets "Johnny, Are You Queer?" by Josie Cotton.

Tricorder - don't ask why, but I think Josh WInk's "Higher State Of Consciousness" kind of fits.

for Padraig - I think Iron Maiden's "The Clansman" is fitting.

for Ad Astra - knowing how all the ladies seem to go nuts when he posts a picture of himself, I pick Hot Chocolate's "You Sexy Thing"

For PrincessWhoopAss, I think Kraftwerk's "The Model" is a good choice.

for Sakrysta, Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons and their song "Oh What a Night". Sakrysta has always struck me as a fun person that would be great to meet, and so that's why I picked that song.

That's all I can think of right now.

To die, in the rain.

Hmmm....personally....I think Altan's "A Tune For Frankie" fits Paddy quite nicely...but then again that's mainly because I know him better than anyone else here...but also because I see his face everytime I hear it.

If I knew anyone else here a bit better I might be able to think up some more songs...I'm sorry. :(

For Heribe, Iggy Pop's 'Real Wild Child' is a good fit.

For CMR, I think 'Renegade Master' by Wildchild. The Fatboy Slim remix of course.

For some reason, listening to Timo Maas's "What Goes Around" made me think of Mudshark.

For Spaceball, the techno remix of the Imperial March from Star Wars.

To die, in the rain.
