NASCAR

OK, I know there are very few sports fans here. But I feel it's my duty to have a NASCAR thread as the 2009 season starts today with the Daytona 500.

I'll try to keep me updated during the year.

Well, I went to Daytona Beach once.

I saw one of the coolest cars ever and got the worst sunburn of my life.

I've been to Daytona Beach, too. I was 11 years old.

Race currently on a rain delay. 48 laps to go - if they don't call it.

Race officially called. Matt Kenseth won.

I loved last night's finish.

I missed the race (guess I'm not paying enough attention to know the race was Saturday night). But I'm very glad Tony won.

My friend with the bad hip and her husband make a point to watch every race. I just caught the end of that one when I stopped at their place for a cup of coffee after the Fourth of July fireworks.

I used to watch every race. I used to go to the local races all the time. Hm. Guess I'm getting old. But then again, my son forgot the race to Saturday as well.

I believe there is a race on tonight.

hm....I'll have to look into that.

Yup - gonna start in a couple of minutes.

Woo hoo! Bill Elliott is racing tonight!

I didn't watch it.

I did. Off and on. Mark Martin won.

They are at the brickyard this week.

I saw that. My neighbors I am taking care of this weekend will make sure I see at least part of it. At least in between games of five card slingo and cleaning their camper.
