But on the bright side, Biden's people aren't taking any chances with the Electors.

That's wise. I fully expect shenanigans.

The Supreme Court has rejected another wacky-doodle attempt by the GOP to overthrow the election.

^ So is it possible that the Republican dominated Supreme Court actually has integrity?
Re: 2020 Politics: On the Hill of Megiddo
All but Justices Thomas and Alito. Those nutbags think the Court should have heard from Plaintiffs. Texas is one of those states with people who loudly scream "STATES RIGHTS" yet try to sue other states for doing something it doesn't approve of. Oklahoma did that a few years back after Colorado had legalized marijuana. I still laugh at how Oklahoma legalized medical marijuana shortly after, the result of which tied the authoritarian GOP into knots. You know, those who scream about "THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE" and tried to stonewall that effort. I lives waaaaaaay in the sticks and there is a medical marijuana dispensary within 4-miles of my house They popped up all of the OKC metro area like spring flowers.
Donald Trump stood no chance in front of a conservative Supreme Court. Here's why.
You can have my Oxford comma when you pry it from my cold, dead, and lifeless hands.
Re: 2020 Politics: On the Hill of Megiddo
To some extent. It was a flimsy case with the only hope of success being that the election would be thrown into chaos and then to the House, where maybe the Republicans might have been able to hand the Presidency to Trump. Maybe. The problem was that it wasn't a matter that the Court really had any say over.
From what I understand there were some legalisms in their argument: namely that the Court should automatically hear out any dispute between states. Some of their wording though indicates however that they weren't really onboard with the GOP's arguments.

Yeah, they weren't going to go for it.
I wonder if the Court decided that there was just cause to negate the votes of any State, if they would also negate the votes from the total, thereby changing the threshold to win, and if that would have changed the outcome in this case.

Re: 2020 Politics: On the Hill of Megiddo
Haha. The new threshold would be 238 and Biden would have 244.
Re: 2020 Politics: On the Hill of Megiddo
^Yeah, there was no way for this to work and still have a fig leaf of legitimacy to it.

Some aren't mincing words... or rather magazine covers.

The Electoral College meets today.
One more step in making Trump go away.
