Re: The Picture Thread IX: Look At That!
We had the same thing happen. When we first moved to Weymouth, there was a bunch of pheasants out in the Swampy Swamp, but they disappeared after a few years as the area grew more developed. We also had big turtles the size of manhole covers who also disappeared.
Beautiful. That's a perfect composition.

I like those green/golds, Lupine. Very pretty.
Deer "hiding" (actually eating the small limbs on the fallen tree), about 30 feet from me:
Twilight Tree:
Deer in the yard. This is a mama deer and her twins, plus two more young ones:
Now I'll let you all in on a secret. In the background was the old house. It's looking as bad as it is, so I decided to remove it from that photo.
We always had at least one big Snapping Turtle come through the yard when I was a kid (we were to call our granpa, he liked to eat turtle), but I haven't seen one since the 80's. Little ones, but none of the giants.RJDiogenes wrote: ↑Thu Feb 18, 2021 11:55 pmWe had the same thing happen. Probably been since the 80s at the old house, too. The area has really gotten built up over the years, which drained out the water table.
That's a great picture. I love the low angle of the sun.Deer "hiding" (actually eating the small limbs on the fallen tree), about 30 feet from me:
Good job. I can't detect any artifacts at all.Now I'll let you all in on a secret. In the background was the old house. It's looking as bad as it is, so I decided to remove it from that photo.
And now the moment you've been waiting all your lives for:

^^ Oh that's a wonderful photo of Momma Diogenes and Bernie!!
Elara, I love your wintery photos. I got chilled to the bone just looking at them, so I'm now enjoying a nice hot cocoa

And then shots from today that didn't get ruined, first is the view of the path from down at the pens:
Next is where my son dug down beside the path, showing a ten inch drop to the ground:
And last is the pile of evil white stuff that came off Stormy's roof:

Elara, you have amazing photoshop skills. How did you remove that house so seamlessly?

Wow, you should have a job in special effects. I especially like the tree next to the deer's butt on the right. I'm going to have to examine this more closely.
He's like a new addition to the family. It's like he's really there! That's great!
