The Picture Thread IX: Look At That!

I'm really happy to see these birds. We used to have a lot of them around, heard the roosters in our pasture, then about 10 years ago, they disappeared. I look forward to hearing their call again.

We had the same thing happen. When we first moved to Weymouth, there was a bunch of pheasants out in the Swampy Swamp, but they disappeared after a few years as the area grew more developed. We also had big turtles the size of manhole covers who also disappeared.

I like those green/golds, Lupine. Very pretty.

We always had at least one big Snapping Turtle come through the yard when I was a kid (we were to call our granpa, he liked to eat turtle), but I haven't seen one since the 80's. Little ones, but none of the giants.

Now I'll let you all in on a secret. In the background was the old house. It's looking as bad as it is, so I decided to remove it from that photo.

Wow, you should have a job in special effects. I especially like the tree next to the deer's butt on the right. I'm going to have to examine this more closely.
