Had to replace the cover image for quality issues, it's still at the same link.

You're right, that's better. More interesting angle and depth, so it's more eye catching.

I finished an outline for a Jessen O'kanel novel yesterday, currently titled Bow Echo. I had been working on another, Library of Eternity but I just couldn't get the plot to work.

That second title is mighty intriguing. :D I wonder if it might work better to market this as a series, rather than as individual novels.

Actually I do list them as a series.

The problem with Library of Eternity is that I was trying to recycle elements of previous ideas and I found that reverse engineering doesn't work well. I'll keep trying though. Maybe I'll even post the prologue in the Writer's Club later.

Sorry, I meant market them to publishers or agents. Series are always popular, so it may catch their attention to know that there are already several existing books about the character.

I did submit Diaspora and Secrets in the Sand to Baen simultaneously, but that didn't help either.

Hmm. An agent might be more susceptible to that approach.

I just noticed the Library of Eternity post, so I'll try to get to it tonight.

There's a thought....

I did get a start on the prologue of Bow Echo today.

I've done chapters 1-3, 5 and part of 6 on book 14...

Planning to add mini-stories (one chapter) after every few chapters, from lore of the various races involved. I'm introducing a concept from Izami culture called The Storytelling to facilitate this - basically when new cultures encounter one another, the Izami Coalition trades stories as part of its First Contact protocol. This went VERY wrong during their initial First Contact with the Mastari, because the Mastari thought the Izami were telling them how to behave, and led to centuries of misunderstanding and miscommunication. Without wanting to spoil Book 13, they're now getting a second chance.

That's odd. It passes for me in both Firefox and WordPerfect.
